Sustainable Brands We Love

Bee’s Wrap

Wanting to reduce the amount of plastic used in food storage, Sarah Kaeck created a reusable cotton and wax wrap in her Vermont kitchen and started selling online in 2011. As a proud B Corp, Bee’s Wrap® partners with 1% for the Planet to tackle our planet’s environmental issues, the Rozalia Project to protect the oceans and beaches, and The Bee Cause to educate children on bees and the eco-system.

Karst

Australian Kevin Garcia discovered food packaging made of stone paper while on a trip to Asia. Inspired by the stone paper product, he and good friend Jon Tse visited the president of the paper-making factory, launched a Kickstarter campaign, and then founded Karst to bring tree-free, sustainably made notepads and journals to consumers around the globe. Karst donates to non-profit One Tree Planted by planting a tree for each notebook sold.

Modern Sprout

Wife and husband team Sarah Burrows and Nick Behr launched Chicago-based Modern Sprout in 2013. What started with hydroponic systems has since expanded into live plants, grow frames, seed kits, and more. Modern Sprout reduces plastic in their packaging and uses sustainable materials in their products. They give back to the Pollinator Partnership to protect the world’s pollinators and their habitats.

Full Circle Home

While living in Asia, Tal Chitayat and Heather Kauffman started Full Circle Home in 2009. He was a supply chain expert. She was a US-China trade relations expert. Driven by their mutual desire to bring to market sustainable products for the home, their business partnership was formed. Today they are a certified B Corp with a commitment to plastic-free packaging in 2022 and the use of only recycled plastic in their products by 2025. They give back to the Plastic Bank® and charity: water.

Conscious Step

Do good, look good, feel good is the mantra of Conscious Step, a Fairtrade, organic socks manufacturer that designs socks for their non-profit partners and then donates a portion of the sales back to those organizations. Founded in 2013 by finance expert Prashant Mehta, medical doctor Hassan Ahmad, and Adam Long, a marketing strategist, they believed connecting the purchase of a tangible product to global issues of hunger, disease, education, and environment is the best way to promote awareness.

Herbivore
Herbivore Botanicals founders Julia Wills and Alex Kummerow turn routine into ritual with their vegan, Seattle-made skincare line, which they created in their kitchen in 2011. They capture the essence of ethically sourced minerals, floral oils, and nourishing botanicals in each of their products for face, hair, and body. Plus, they package their products in glass to help the environment and your health. Herbivore Botanicals sources most of their materials in the USA, and never tests on animals.
